My dream of running a home cafe

When delusions become reality

There is something oddly delusional about one of my dreams: I want to turn my 38 sqm apartment into a cafe/tea house for one afternoon.

Why?

a) because I can

b) because it sounds fun

c) because I get to bring people together

d) because what if I find out that this is something I would like to do again?

e) because even “tiny” dreams deserve to become reality

What’s the plan?

In May 2025 I plan to invite over a bunch of friends and loved ones to my apartment and serve them homemade ice teas, ginger shots, cookies, cakes and more in my home cafe “Homebuddy”. Alongside food and drinks, if it gets to cozy inside I also hope that the good weather will allow my guests to venture out into my garden and enjoy some BBQ, background music from my playlists, and browse through unique 1/1 merch items that I will have worked on by then.

That’s quite a lot to handle for one person, no?

Yes, it is. But there is also so much joy tied to this project as it challenges me as an artist and hobby cook. There are so many more “tiny” dreams I have that are waiting to become reality. And pop ups like this just sound like the perfect event to host without the pressure of necessarily having to become a big success.

I plan on sharing my recipes from the test kitchen once they have passed the quality check(s)! So stay tuned on my “Delights” page and look out for sweet and savoury recipes, new Cafes I really enjoy hanging out at and food spots that I find incredible.
